  1. Last nights lost was yet another example of Joe Torre’s over managing. Torre pulls starters early and wears out bullpen with overuse. If you are going to pull Pettitte early why not let Proctor pitch in the eighth? Why bring in Meyer to pitch to Ortiz when the Yanks were leading by 4 runs. If you are going to pul Vizcaino why go to Rivera? Why not Henn? Why not Britton? Why not Farnsworth? And why pitch run for Giambi with a lead? Torre was managing like the score what 6-5 redsox and not 6-2 Yanks. Rivera had not pitched in 6 days and was ineffective then. If he thought he might use Rivera on Friday why not give me some work against the Indians. He is using Rivera like it is 1999 and not 2007. I don’t blame Rivera for the blown save, I blame Torre. He doesn’t seem to have a handle on how to use the bullpen. Torre had some good years managing but I think those are behind him. The teams collapses in 2004 through 2006 belong on his doorstep. Torre has become a tinkers he doesn’t manage. That bizzare move in last year’s playoffs when he put A-Rod in the eight spot was evidence. Why decide to do something radical with the lineup in the playoffs–that is not the time for experimentation. I know there is not chance Torre will be replace in 2007 but if he was I won’t cry. Where is Joe Giradi?
